Barcelona Breaks New Record
Tuesday 26-08-2025
Barcelona achieved a new record in ball possession percentage during the match against Levante in the last round of La Liga, reaching a possession rate of 82.3%, the highest since Hans Flick took over as coach of the team.

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that this record was set in the 62nd match that Flick officially led Barcelona, surpassing the previous record of 81% in the away match against Valladolid, which marked Barcelona's return to the title race.

This is also the third time under Flick's leadership that Barcelona has restricted its opponent's possession to less than 20% of the time, following matches against Leganés and Mallorca.

The report clarified that Barcelona has owned the ball in 59 out of 62 matches since Flick's tenure began, while only three matches had exceptions due to special circumstances, including encounters in the Champions League against Bayern Munich, Monaco, and Benfica.

This achievement comes amid the team's strong performance, which has shown a clear improvement in controlling the game's flow under the German coach, enhancing their chances of competing for titles this season.
