Goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Ruhaili of Al-Ettifaq has rejected the financial offer presented to him by Al-Ahli, which has pushed the loan deal that was set for one season towards a potential collapse, according to an official source from the Eastern club.

The two clubs had reached an agreement a week ago for Al-Ruhaili to join Al-Ahli on loan, and the account "Al-Riyadiyah Ajil" announced the preliminary agreement via the "X" platform on August 15.

After Al-Ettifaq's approval, Al-Ahli presented its financial offer to the goalkeeper, but Al-Ruhaili rejected it due to the modesty of the offer, prompting the Western club's management to consider withdrawing from the deal.

Al-Ruhaili started from the youth categories of Al-Ahli and participated in the first team between 2014 and 2019, before being loaned to Al-Raed for the 2017-2018 season, then joined them permanently in 2019, before moving to Al-Ettifaq last summer.

Al-Ruhaili has a contract with Al-Ettifaq until the summer of 2028, and the club does not object to his loan if he wishes to do so, especially after relying on Slovakian goalkeeper Marek Rodak, while Al-Ruhaili did not play any matches during his last loan period to Al-Nassr.
