Christian Chivu, the coach of Inter Milan, praised the mentality of his players after the overwhelming victory over Torino with a score of 5-0 in the team's opening match of the Italian league, confirming that what they presented was "a display of maturity" after a complicated summer period.

Chivu stated in remarks to Sky Sport Italy: "We worked hard and the players responded wonderfully; they are trying to leave the past behind, and this was evidence of maturity. Since the first day of training, everyone has committed to what is required, they worked seriously, and that's why they were in great shape today, even though the summer was tough and we didn't have enough time to prepare."

He added: "It's not just about physical fitness, but also about mentality, as it gives you something extra, and we are working hard on this aspect."

This was Chivu's first official match in the Italian league after succeeding Simone Inzaghi, marking the strongest start for the Nerazzurri in Calcio since their 6-0 victory over Atalanta in 1961.

The Romanian coach confirmed: "Returning to this stadium as a coach of a club that contributed to writing its history is very special, but my focus is now on the present, as the responsibility is great."

Regarding the high pressing style that caused problems for Torino but carries risks, he said: "Pressing requires commitment from all players, correct timing, and good reading of situations. It is definitely not easy, but I fear nothing."

As for the transfer market and the possibility of signing Ademola Lookman, Chivu clarified: "I prefer to talk about the match. We still have a few days before the market closes, and we will see what happens. As for Lookman, he is not part of our team, so I do not talk about players who are not with us."
