Ibrahim Fayek stated in television remarks on MBC Masr 2: "There were some opportunities during the summer transfer window to sell or loan Ahmed Abdelkader, but the player refused, despite the desire of Al Ahly officials to sell him."
He added: "The current situation is that the player is completely out of Ribeiro's plans, and Al Ahly officials have decided to intervene to resolve the crisis between Ribeiro and Abdelkader and persuade the coach to allow the player to return to training."
He concluded: "In the coming period, Mohamed Youssef, the sports director of Al Ahly, will hold a meeting with Ribeiro to demand giving Abdelkader a chance and involving him in the collective training."
