
Morocco Faces Senegal in AFCON Semi-Final
The Moroccan national team is preparing for a tough match against their Senegalese counterparts in the semi-finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), in a highly anticipated match that will take place on Tuesday, August 26, at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda, starting at 18:30 Moroccan time.
The Atlas Lions reached the semifinals after defeating Tanzania with a clean goal scored by Osama Meloui, while the Senegalese team qualified after overcoming Uganda with the same result through Omar Ba.
Both teams secured a financial reward of $500,000 after reaching the semi-finals, with the champion set to receive $2 million, compared to $1.25 million for the previous champion.
The Senegalese team holds the title from the last edition held in Algeria in 2023, while Morocco has previously won the championship twice, in 2018 in Morocco and in 2020 in Cameroon.
