Union Withdraws from Mora Negotiations and Seeks to Sign Bruno Fernandes
The management of Ittihad Club has finalized its decision to withdraw from negotiations to sign midfielder Rodrigo Mora, the star of FC Porto, after talks between the two parties stalled and no final agreement was reached in the past period.
The sports newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" reported that the club's management has indeed closed the Mora file and has seriously started negotiations with Portuguese player Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, hoping to finalize the deal before the new season kicks off.
The Fernandes deal faces several challenges, as the player has previously rejected multiple substantial offers during this summer, most notably from Saudi club Al-Hilal before and after his participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, as well as another offer from Al-Nassr.
Bruno is considered one of the top midfielders in Europe in recent years, having started his career in the Italian league with Novara, before moving to Udinese and then Sampdoria, later shining with Sporting Lisbon since 2017.
In January 2020, the Portuguese star moved to Manchester United, becoming the team captain and one of its key pillars, amid ongoing interest from several European and Saudi clubs, while Ittihad seeks to seize the opportunity to sign a player of Bruno's caliber to strengthen its squad.
