Younis Mahmoud Affirms His Commitment to Serving Iraqi Football

Younis Mahmoud, Vice President of the Iraqi Football Association, issued a clarifying statement through his official Facebook account to shed light on what was raised regarding his recent statements during the press conference held last Thursday.

Mahmoud clarified in his statement that all he has achieved in the sports arena is primarily due to God, and then to the support of the fans and honest media that have accompanied him throughout his career, affirming that he always works in the name of Iraq and all its regions from the south, west, and central Euphrates to Kurdistan.

He added: What I mentioned about my 'injustice' during the conference was a reference to attempts by some pages and websites to tarnish his image, simply because he seeks to develop Iraqi football and lead it towards podiums of victory, clarifying that his status and sports history would not have been achieved without the support of the Iraqi people.

Mahmoud concluded his statement by saying that he will continue as everyone knows him, fighting on the field to achieve victories and succeeding in administrative work, drawing strength from the loyal fans and honest media, while committing to work for the benefit of Iraqi football.
