Hong Kong Seeks to Host Saudi Super Cup 2026

Reports announced on Friday evening that the Hong Kong government intends to submit an official request to host the 2026 edition of the Saudi Super Cup, following the significant success achieved by the 2025 edition.

Hong Kong seeks to enhance the experience by organizing a preparatory tour for Saudi teams in various cities before the season starts, as part of a sports and cultural program that connects the two countries.

Sources indicated that the government wishes to hold the tournament at the new Kai Tak Stadium, which is air-conditioned and considered one of the latest sports facilities in Asia, providing a unique experience for fans and players.

Hong Kong also plans, in coordination with the Saudi side, to organize accompanying cultural and artistic events to strengthen the civilizational and economic ties between the two countries more broadly.

According to the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat", there are verbal requests from two Arab countries to host the Super Cup, but they have not yet turned into official procedures, awaiting the final decision from the Saudi Football Federation.
