Saudi Football Federation Rejects Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr's Objection to Super Cup Referees
The Saudi Football Federation has settled the ongoing debate regarding the refereeing team for the Saudi Super Cup final between Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli, after rejecting the clubs' request to change the referees assigned to manage the anticipated match tomorrow, Saturday, in Hong Kong.
Al-Ahli's management had requested the use of a foreign refereeing team to officiate the match, while Al-Nassr expressed its objection to appointing Saudi referee Mohammed Al-Huwaish. However, the Football Federation rejected these demands, affirming its commitment to previous decisions.
Al-Huwaish will officiate the final match, assisted by Khalaf Al-Shammari as the first assistant referee, and Yasser Al-Sultan as the second assistant referee, while Majid Al-Shamrani will serve as the fourth referee, in addition to Mamdouh Al-Shahdan for video technology with the assistance of Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari.
The match between Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli will kick off at the Hong Kong International Stadium at 3 PM Mecca time (8 PM Hong Kong time), amidst significant fan anticipation for this awaited summit.
Al-Nassr secured its place in the final after defeating Al-Ittihad with a score of two goals to one, while Al-Ahli qualified following a resounding victory over Al-Qadisiyah with five goals to one in the semi-final.
