Flick Demands Faster Player Registration

Barcelona coach Hans Flick expressed his growing dissatisfaction with the delay in registering some players before the upcoming match against Levante in the Spanish league. Despite understanding the club's financial situation, he previously stated that he is not at all satisfied with the delay in resolving this issue.

Flick held a meeting with sporting director Deco to seek clarifications on the player registration process and urged for expedited procedures to have all elements in place before the end of the week. However, he is beginning to accept that this matter may be postponed until the final week of the transfer window, where some departures are expected to be finalized.

Among Flick's priorities is registering player Gerard Martin as a replacement in the left-back position following the departure of Inigo Martinez. However, this depends on the termination of Oriol Romeu's contract, which has yet to be resolved. A decisive meeting is expected on Friday, and even if an agreement is reached, it is unclear whether the saved amount will be sufficient to register Martin unless the termination occurs under conditions favorable to the club.

Flick believes that the delay in registrations has caused tension within the dressing room. The club experienced a similar situation last January regarding Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, where the coach requested Joan Laporta to intervene and explain the situation to the players to calm things down. Currently, the atmosphere is more tranquil, and the concerned players are in constant contact with the club, which has reassured them that matters will be resolved before the market closes.

One of Flick's main technical concerns is the goalkeeper position, after having to call up Iñaki Peña for the Mallorca match, despite his complete absence from the preparation period. Meanwhile, he cannot rely on Szczęsny due to the necessity of Iñaki's departure first, a deal that will not happen until the final days of the market, according to the positions of the clubs interested in the player.

Flick considers the case of Marc Bernal as one that has not been properly addressed yet. The coach values the young player's talent and believes he is a key part of the team's future. Despite the management's promises to give him a number in the first team after renewing his contract, his registration has not yet been completed, which Flick sees as unfair.

Sporting director Deco is working on finding solutions and has successfully registered important signings such as Juan Garcia and Marcus Rashford, but more departures are still needed to achieve the required balance.

The Casado deal is crucial, as selling the player may allow the club to activate the 1:1 financial rule, ensuring flexibility in registering players until the end of the season, especially with the need to re-register Ter Stegen in January.
