Investment Struggle Between Bin Talal and Bin Musaad for Al-Hilal Acquisition
Thursday 21-08-2025
Prince Abdullah bin Musaad has entered into a strong competition with Prince Alwaleed bin Talal to buy all shares of the Saudi Al-Hilal Club, amid the current trend towards selling all shares of clubs owned by the fund, including the 25% owned by the Ministry of Sports.

Journalist Ahmed Al-Ajlan revealed via his account on the 'X' platform that the upcoming step will allow investors to own the club entirely, placing administrative and financial control in the hands of the private sector away from government entities.

Al-Ajlan pointed out that businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is considered the closest to completing the deal due to his massive financial capabilities, while Prince Abdullah bin Musaad is showing serious interest in competing for the acquisition.

The sports critic added that if Abdullah bin Musaad fails to acquire Al-Hilal, he will look for alternative options, including buying a rival club to Al-Hilal through an investment alliance, or turning towards one of the clubs in the Eastern Province.

Sources confirm that Alwaleed bin Talal currently has stronger odds, but Abdullah bin Musaad's entry into the competition could open the door to new surprises in the ownership of Saudi clubs.
