Barcelona Accelerates Player Registrations to Provide Full Roster for Flick

Barcelona continues its race against time to register its new players before facing Levante, amid financial fair play restrictions imposed by La Liga, in order to enable coach Hans Flick to rely on his full squad.

After successfully registering both Juan Garcia and Marcus Rashford before the start of the league, the club is currently working to register the trio of Gerard Martin, Wojciech Szczesny, and Bardji, with Marc Bernal to be registered later after his recovery, as he is a player in the reserve team.

The registration of Gerard Martin, who will join the first team roster, is linked to the departure of Oriol Romeu, who is on the verge of terminating his contract, and Martin is expected to be available for Saturday's match against Levante.

As for Szczesny and Bardji, they will be registered once the departure of goalkeeper Iñaki Peña is completed through contract extension and loan, and Hector Fort either by loan or sale, with Aston Villa showing interest. Estimates suggest that Szczesny could be registered before the third match, while the club chose to register Bardji in the first team to avoid any legal doubts.

Barcelona hopes to improve its financial situation by extending Frenkie de Jong's contract, which would help create a registration margin, similar to what happened with the renewal of Jules Koundé's contract. The club is also monitoring potential offers for young duo Gil Fernandez and Dani Rodriguez, who are being pursued by Borussia Dortmund and Valencia respectively.

Although selling a player like Marc Casado could provide a larger margin for registration, the club prefers to avoid this step unless it becomes necessary.

On another note, Barcelona players appeared in training wearing shirts bearing the logo of the new sponsor "Democratic Republic of the Congo", in a deal that extends until the 2028/2029 season, with a total value of 44 million euros.

Barcelona is now awaiting confirmations from La Liga regarding the available financial margin, and Flick does not expect new signings but demands the registration of all available players.
