Dutch star Frenkie de Jong, midfielder for FC Barcelona, has taken an important step towards securing his future at Camp Nou after ending his relationship with former agent Ali Dursun due to a loss of trust and appointing a new agent of the same nationality to handle negotiations for his contract renewal, which expires in June 2026.

According to the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", the new agent has already begun his communications with Barcelona's management, reaching out to sporting director Deco and expressing his desire to meet to discuss De Jong's future, amidst positive vibes from both sides.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta previously expressed his support for the player, stating: "I have always been a supporter of De Jong, and he is one of the players who maintains Barcelona's style of play," adding that the club is determined to extend his contract once his personal and professional matters are resolved.

Despite Barcelona's interest in keeping De Jong, there is no immediate priority for renewing his contract as they are currently focused on resolving issues with unwanted players such as Oriol Romeu, Iñaki Peña, and Héctor Fort, in addition to registering some new players according to financial fair play regulations.

Although matters are still in the early stages, the indicators are positive, and the renewal could be finalized soon if the new agent adheres to the financial terms set by the club.
