Officials at Al Ahli Jeddah are looking to sign young Argentine Ezequiel Palacios, a player from Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, during the current summer transfer window to strengthen the team's midfield.

Journalist Sasha Tavaleri revealed via his account on "X" that the Saudi club is seriously considering signing Palacios after making contact with the player's representatives to discuss his transfer to the Roshan Saudi Professional League next season.

Bayer Leverkusen is expected to request a fee of 45 million euros to agree to sell Palacios, while Al Ahli aims to finalize the deal before the start of the new season, following the Saudi Super Cup.

Al Ahli's interest in acquiring the Argentine player comes at the request of German coach Matthias Jaissle, who seeks to bolster the team's midfield ahead of the new season and ensure strong competition both locally and continentally.

Al Ahli is preparing to face Al Qadisiya on Wednesday at 3 PM Mecca time at Hong Kong International Stadium in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup, before determining who will advance to the final match.
