Al-Nassr Triumphs Over Al-Ittihad and Reaches Saudi Super Cup Final

Al-Nassr achieved a valuable victory over their rival Al-Ittihad with a score of 2-1 in the match that brought the two teams together on Tuesday evening at Hong Kong Stadium, as part of the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup.

The match was intense from the start, with Al-Nassr taking the lead first through Senegalese Sadio Mane in the tenth minute, before the player himself received a direct red card in the twenty-fifth minute following a violent tackle on goalkeeper Hamid Al-Shanqiti.

Despite being down to ten men, Al-Nassr continued to apply pressure and managed to score the second goal, while Al-Ittihad attempted to come back into the match and managed to reduce the deficit, but international referee Khaled Al-Tarees's whistle confirmed the victory for Al-Nassr.

Statistics showed a clear superiority for Al-Ittihad in possession with 64% compared to 36% for Al-Nassr, while Al-Ittihad completed 489 passes with an accuracy of 88%, compared to only 266 passes for Al-Nassr with an accuracy of 84%.

In terms of offensive attempts, Al-Nassr shot 15 times, with 3 on target and 12 from inside the penalty area, while Al-Ittihad had 10 shots, including 3 on target.

Al-Nassr also earned 6 corner kicks, compared to 4 for Al-Ittihad, and there were 27 fouls called against players from both teams, with 10 against Al-Nassr and 17 against Al-Ittihad, while the referee issued 5 yellow cards, two for Al-Nassr and three for Al-Ittihad, in addition to a single red card for Mane.

With this victory, Al-Nassr continued its dominance in recent encounters with Al-Ittihad, achieving its third victory in the last five matches, while Al-Ittihad's win count remained at only two matches.

Al-Nassr is scheduled to meet the winner of the Al-Ahli and Al-Qadisiyah match in the final on August 23 to determine the champion of the current edition of the Saudi Super Cup.
