The German club Bayer Leverkusen has placed an official offer on the table of French club Monaco to sign Moroccan international Elias Ben Sghir before the summer transfer window closes.

French newspaper "L'Équipe" revealed that Leverkusen is looking to sign Ben Sghir to compensate for the anticipated departure of compatriot Amin Adli, who is close to transferring to Bournemouth in England.

The same sources indicated that the German club made an initial offer for the player, but Monaco's management rejected it, setting the value of the "Atlas Lion" at 35 million euros to allow his departure.

Leverkusen's interest in Ben Sghir comes amid changes within the team, following the departure of several prominent names, such as Granit Xhaka, Florian Wirtz, and Jeremy Frimpong, in addition to Adli's imminent exit from the club.

It is worth noting that Ben Sghir is under contract with Monaco until the summer of 2027 and has played 11 matches with the Moroccan national team, scoring 3 goals.
