Shobair Criticizes Pyramids for Requesting to Exclude Referee Amin Omar
Ahmed Shobair, the former star of Al Ahly, criticized Pyramids FC after they requested not to assign any matches for the team in the Egyptian league to referee Amin Omar.
Shobair stated in radio remarks: "There is an objection from Pyramids against the international referee Amin Omar, regarding his decisions in the team's match against Ismaily."
He clarified: "The truth is these things are starting to annoy me. Al Ahly complained about Mohamed Ma'ruf, but they didn't say Mohamed Ma'ruf should not officiate any of my matches again, and you don't have the right to demand that no matches for your team be assigned to Amin Omar, because that's not the club's decision. When Pyramids makes such a request, they are wrong; that decision is for the referees' committee, or else everyone will choose the referee they want to officiate their matches."
He concluded: "What Yurtchich did should have resulted in a red card, and the red card was correct, and the penalties imposed on him were appropriate."
