Girona Seeks to Sign Onahi Despite Negotiation Stalemate
Monday 18-08-2025
Reports have revealed that the Spanish club Girona is preparing to submit a new offer to French club Olympique Marseille to sign Moroccan international Azzedine Onahi during the ongoing summer transfer window.

According to the same sources, Girona's management intends to increase the financial value of their offer, including additional incentives in the deal, confirming their strong desire to secure the services of the Moroccan player.

On the other hand, Onahi is sticking to his first choice of playing in the Spanish league with Girona, as sources close to him have indicated that he is not considering any other options, preferring to remain on the bench at Marseille rather than accept other offers.

Onahi had previously received an official offer from Greek club Panathinaikos worth 10 million euros, following a successful loan period with the club, but he showed no enthusiasm for the idea, preferring to pursue a more competitive experience in La Liga that aligns with his sporting ambitions.

The tug-of-war continues between Onahi and Marseille's management, led by former Moroccan player Mehdi Benatia, as the club seeks to achieve the highest possible financial return from the deal, while the player insists on his sporting choice.

This situation raises many questions about the reasons behind the stalled negotiations, especially since both parties agree on ending the experience, but they differ on Marseille's financial priority and Onahi's sporting choice.
