Moroccan striker Ismail Khafi expressed his great happiness at joining the ranks of Raja Sports Club, confirming that wearing the shirt of the "Green Eagles" represents a childhood dream he has long awaited.

Khafi said in a statement to the club's official website: "My arrival here is like a dream come true; since I was young, I wished to play for Raja, and thank God that has happened today. Every season, I awaited this moment, and now the opportunity I have long waited for has come. "

The 28-year-old player added: "I look forward to delivering a great performance and helping the team win titles locally and continentally. I chose Raja because it is a club that gives great value to its players, and I have been a supporter for years, and today I am one of them on the field. I know well what this shirt means to the fans, and I will do my utmost to meet their expectations."

Raja announced yesterday, Saturday, its official contract with Khafi coming from Al-Qadsia in Kuwait, under a contract that extends for two seasons with an option for a third season.

He previously excelled strongly with Ittihad Tangier, finishing the Moroccan league with a tally of 13 goals, making him the second-best scorer of the competition, before embarking on a professional experience in Kuwait.

The Khafi deal comes as part of Raja's management efforts to strengthen its attacking line in preparation for the new season, amid the club's ambition to return to the podiums of local and continental championships.

The team's supporters hope that the incoming striker will provide a qualitative addition thanks to his experience and ability to score, while Khafi faces the challenge of proving himself within one of the largest clubs in Morocco and Africa.
