Donnarumma Announces Departure from Paris Saint-Germain with Emotional Farewell Message
Wednesday 13-08-2025
Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has officially announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain during the ongoing summer transfer window, following a strained relationship between the two parties in recent weeks.

In recent days, the crisis between the French club and Donnarumma has escalated, as the goalkeeper was absent from the squad list for the match against Tottenham, amid strong indications that he is no longer part of the technical management's plans, with his contract set to expire on June 30, 2026.

In a farewell message posted on his official Instagram account, Donnarumma expressed heartfelt words to the club's fans, stating: "Since my first day in Paris, I have given everything I have on and off the pitch to defend this shirt. Unfortunately, someone decided that I am no longer part of this project. I feel a great disappointment, and I hope to say goodbye to the fans at the Parc des Princes as it deserves. If that does not happen, know that I will never forget your support."

He also thanked his teammates, describing them as a second family, emphasizing that playing for Paris Saint-Germain and living in the French capital was a great honor.

It is worth noting that Donnarumma has played 161 matches for Paris Saint-Germain, during which he conceded 156 goals and managed to keep a clean sheet in 56 matches since joining the team.
