Atalanta and Roma Compete for Julio Enciso
Tuesday 12-08-2025
Italian clubs Atalanta and Roma have taken serious steps to sign Paraguayan winger Julio Enciso, a player from Brighton in England, according to the website "Football Italia".

Reports indicate that both clubs have a vacant spot in their rosters for non-European Union players, giving them the opportunity to register Enciso easily if the deal is completed. Atalanta had attempted to sign the player last January, but Brighton rejected the offer.

Despite the interest from both sides, the 21-year-old player is currently suffering from a knee injury that required surgery, and he is expected to be out of action for the next few months.

Enciso spent the second half of the 2024/2025 season on loan at Ipswich Town, where he participated in 13 matches and scored two goals, which is his best scoring record in the league since starting his career with Brighton in the 2022/2023 season.

Amid the strong competition between Roma and Atalanta, the player's future remains open, especially with the difficulty for Italian clubs to meet the asking price from Brighton, estimated at 40 million euros.
