Parma Sets Sale Price for Giovanni Leoni Amid Liverpool Interest
Tuesday 12-08-2025
Liverpool has taken its first steps to sign young Italian defender Giovanni Leoni, a player from Parma, following the first serious contact made on August 5, according to the website "Football Italia."

The player, born in 2006, had not previously been linked with any interest from the Reds, but discussions between the two parties have begun to take a more serious turn, especially given the failure of Italian clubs to meet Parma's financial demands, which amount to 40 million euros.

Although Milan was close to the deal, it decided to pursue a less expensive option by signing defender Koni De Winter, while Inter Milan is currently focused on the deal for Ademola Lookman, temporarily distancing itself from the Leoni deal.

In contrast, Liverpool's entry into the picture is a clear indication of rising competition, especially with ongoing discussions between the involved parties.

Giovanni Leoni had a standout season with Parma during 2024/2025, participating in 17 matches in Serie A and proving his great abilities despite his young age, earning him the media nickname of Italy's future in defense.
