Officially: Everton Announces the Signing of Grealish on Loan
Everton Football Club has officially announced the signing of English international star Jack Grealish from Manchester City, on a one-season loan, where he will wear the number 18 shirt during the 2025/2026 season.
Grealish, 29 years old, joins the Toffees as a prominent signing in the summer transfer market, becoming the sixth signing for coach David Moyes this summer, after signing Charlie Alcaraz and bringing in Thierno Balde, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Grealish stated in his remarks: "I am over the moon to sign for Everton, this is a great club with amazing fans. As soon as I spoke with the coach, I knew this was the place I wanted to be. I have received a lot of supportive messages from the fans, and I thank them for all this love."
Regarding his choice of the number 18 shirt, Grealish said: "I chose number 18 because my favorite players in England, Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, wore it with Everton. I spoke with Rooney about the number before finalizing the deal, and I hope he is proud of that."
