Aston Villa Seeks to Reacquire Marco Asensio
Tuesday 12-08-2025
The English club Aston Villa is working on re-signing Spanish winger Marco Asensio from French club Paris Saint-Germain, either through a permanent deal or on loan for another season, according to the British newspaper "Telegraph".

Coach Unai Emery has expressed great admiration for Asensio, who previously joined Aston Villa in January from Paris Saint-Germain on loan and delivered impressive performances by scoring 8 goals in 21 matches across all competitions.

Asensio, who is 29 years old, is an excellent target for Emery, who took over the coaching responsibilities at Aston Villa in October 2022, as he sees him as a player with offensive versatility and the ability to play in multiple positions, which enhances the team's tactical options.

Asensio's contract with Paris Saint-Germain extends until the summer of 2026, but the French club is open to selling him this summer for a low fee, aiming to reduce the wage bill, especially with interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey in acquiring his services.
