Manchester United Prioritizes Upamecano in Defensive Plans
Tuesday 12-08-2025
Reliable journalist Christian Falk revealed that Manchester United is interested in signing French defender Dayot Upamecano, a player for Bayern Munich, during the summer transfer window as part of its efforts to strengthen the defense.

Falk noted that Upamecano, who is 26 years old, has entered the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich, with no agreement reached yet regarding an extension, which raises concerns for the Bavarian club's management that does not want to repeat the scenario of Leroy Sané's departure.

He added that the player's agent, Moussa Sissoko, has offered Upamecano's services to several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, complicating Bayern Munich's position in the renewal negotiations.

Despite coach Vincent Kompany relying on Upamecano as one of the key elements in the defense alongside Jonathan Tah, the player's future remains uncertain, especially given the interest from major clubs in signing him and the lack of real progress in the extension file.

Bayern Munich's decision will depend on the financial offer presented, as they will not part with their international defender unless a difficult-to-refuse offer comes from Manchester United or any other club.
