Atalanta Approaches Signing Rodrigo Muniz to Replace Retegui
Monday 11-08-2025
According to "Football Italy," Atalanta is still confident in its ability to reach an agreement with English club Fulham to sign Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz, to be a substitute for Italian international Matteo Retegui, who left the team this summer.

Retegui departed from Atalanta to join Saudi club Al-Qadisiyah for a massive fee of 65 million euros, the highest in the Italian transfer market this year.

Atalanta has started to explore several attacking alternatives, including Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace, but Muniz remains the preferred option for the club's management.

According to the report, Muniz asked Fulham not to participate in the friendly match in which the team won 1-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, which was seen as a positive indicator of his desire to move to the Italian league. Despite his absence from the match, he participated in morning training with his teammates.

Fulham values Muniz's sale price at around 45 million euros, but Atalanta hopes to complete the deal for 40 million euros plus bonuses, believing there is room to reach an agreement during the current summer transfer window.
