Flick: Happy with the team's performance, and this is our stance on signing a new defender

Barcelona coach Hans Flick expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance during the 5-0 victory over Como in the Joan Gamper Trophy friendly, emphasizing that there are some aspects that need improvement, especially in defense and pressing the ball carrier.

Flick said in press statements after the match: "I think we performed well, but we need to be better defensively. Pressing the opponent is something we need to do more. I am satisfied with this night."

He added: "I am very happy with the new signings: Rashford, Juan Garcia, and Rony Berghuis, as they have raised the quality of the team, and that is what we want from them."

The German coach spoke about the departure of Inigo Martinez: "I love Inigo; last season he was a big part of our success, and he is someone who gives everything he has for the club. He had an offer and made his decision, and he certainly deserves it; this is football and life."

Regarding signing a new defender: "I don’t think we will sign a new center-back to replace Inigo Martinez, but I will talk to Deco soon."

On resolving the crisis with goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen before the start of the season, he concluded: "I am very happy about that, as the situation was not easy. Marc has been a great player for this club for 11 years, and it was important to talk to him and resolve the matter. We also signed Juan Garcia for the future, but it is good that Laporta and the club spoke with Stegen and set things right."
