Laporta: This is what I hope regarding the Ballon d'Or, and we are working on registering new players

Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona, spoke after the 5-0 victory over Como in the Joan Gamper trophy friendly match, held on Sunday evening at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

He began his talk by saying: "Marc-André ter Stegen is our captain. What was between us has been resolved, and his words were sincere; the fans needed to hear them. I liked his attitude; he has been at the club for 11 seasons and has won everything. I am very happy with his return to wearing the captain's armband."

Laporta added regarding player registrations: "We are working on completing that. With Marc's situation, we expect to register goalkeeper Joan Garcia. As for the others, we hope to register them next week."

Regarding the departure of Inigo Martinez, he clarified: "We had five defenders, and one had to leave. I thank him for his good decision on a personal and family level, and he also helped us with the financial fair play file."

As for the Ballon d'Or, he said: "I believe the award should go to one of the Barcelona players. Lamine plays at a genius level, proving that in every match and training. He gives everything he has and continues to develop. As president, I hope one of our players wins the award."

Regarding the return to Camp Nou, he concluded: "We are doing our utmost to finish the works on time. We are working in coordination with the municipality, and everyone is united to return as soon as possible, which is what the members and fans hope for."
