The Spanish club Barcelona announced today the departure of its defender Inigo Martinez from the first team, thanking him for his professionalism, efforts, and dedication during his time at the club, and wishing him success in his future career.

The Basque defender joined Barcelona in the summer of 2023, and in his first season under coach Xavi Hernandez, he played 25 matches, before becoming a key player in the second season with coach Hansi Flick, where he participated in 46 matches.

Martinez, along with young Pau Cubarsi, formed a strong defensive duo that led the team to achieve a historic domestic treble, including the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.

During his career with Barcelona, Inigo Martinez played 71 matches, of which 61 were as a starter, scoring three goals and providing five assists, confirming his status as one of the pillars of the team in recent seasons.

It is worth noting that the player will join Al Nassr on a free transfer.
