Saudi Sports Ministry Resolves Controversy and Dissolves the Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club
Friday 08-08-2025
The Saudi Ministry of Sports announced the dissolution of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club and the disqualification of its president, Mohammed Abdulhadi Al-Jahani, from running or joining any sports club for a period of eight years, following the detection of financial, administrative, and judicial violations.

The statement issued by the club confirmed that the decision was made due to the council's failure to comply with the ministry's recommendations and instructions, in addition to specific violations outlined in the basic regulations of sports clubs, as stated in the legal articles issued in May 2024.

The decision also included the disqualification of Alaa Bakheet and prohibited him from running or joining any club for one year after violating the organizing regulations, in addition to a six-year suspension penalty against the financial manager, Hussein Abbas Sabahi.

The Ministry of Sports clarified that these decisions were based on clear legal provisions, indicating that the penalties vary between disqualification, prohibition from running, and suspension from administrative activities for varying periods.

According to official directives, a working team from the ministry was formed to assess all financial and administrative obligations on the club, in preparation for implementing the legal procedures, with an announcement to be made later regarding the formation of a temporary board of directors to oversee the club's tasks.
