Brighton Prefers to Retain Carlos Baleba Amid Interest from Manchester United
Friday 08-08-2025
European media reports revealed today, Friday, that Brighton prefers to keep the Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba within the team until at least the summer of 2026, despite his name being linked to a transfer to Manchester United during the current summer transfer window.

Baleba is 21 years old and has a contract with Brighton that extends until the summer of 2028. According to transfer news journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United has shown interest in the player through intermediaries but has not yet specified the required financial value.

However, expectations suggest that Baleba's value is similar to that of Caicedo, which amounted to £115 million for his transfer from Brighton to Chelsea two seasons ago.

It is worth mentioning that Carlos Baleba joined Brighton in the summer of 2023 from Lille in France, in a deal valued at around €27 million, according to Transfermarkt.
