Ronaldo Clarifies His Stance on Felix's Transfer to Al-Nassr
Friday 08-08-2025
Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, denied having any role in the transfer of his compatriot Joao Felix to the 'Global' club during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Ronaldo stated to the 'Asharq Al-Awsat' newspaper that he did not communicate with Felix to persuade him to join, noting that such matters do not fall within his responsibilities as a player, but rather his role is limited to training and matches.

The Al-Nassr captain emphasized that the club did not 'steal' the player from Benfica, rejecting the use of that term, affirming that Felix is a wonderful talent and will be a significant addition to the team in the Saudi league competitions.

Ronaldo asserted that the level of the Saudi league is higher than what some might think, criticizing journalists who do not experience the atmosphere inside the stadiums, and reminded them of Al-Hilal's brilliance in the Club World Cup despite their exit against Fluminense.

He added that Felix's decision to join Al-Nassr is a wise step, considering that playing in Saudi Arabia currently offers him greater opportunities for development, given the presence of a constellation of big stars in the local league.

Ronaldo also spoke about Al-Nassr's preparations for the new season, emphasizing the importance of the current training period in terms of effort and regaining fitness, in preparation for facing Al-Ittihad on August 19 in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong.

He concluded his remarks by expressing satisfaction with the progress of the preparatory camp, stating that scoring goals at this stage provides him with strong motivation, and that the team is heading in the right direction before the season begins.
