
Officially.. Barcelona Reveals New Captain
Barcelona announced today, Thursday, officially, the new captain who has been chosen to replace the German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen.
The statement mentioned that the Uruguayan center-back Ronald Araujo will be the first captain of the Catalan team in the upcoming period.
The statement read: "FC Barcelona informs that due to the disciplinary file opened against player Marc-André ter Stegen, and as long as this procedure is not resolved definitively, the club, in agreement with the sports management and the technical staff, has decided to temporarily withdraw his leadership of the first team."
It continued: "During this period, the second captain, player Ronald Araujo, will assume the responsibilities of the first captain."
