Tottenham Announces Madison's Injury with ACL Tear
Thursday 07-08-2025
Tottenham Hotspur received a major shock today, Thursday, after confirming that their player James Madison has suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee.

Madison, who is 28 years old, sustained the injury during the match against Newcastle United, part of the teams' Asian tour in South Korea, which ended in a draw.

After the team returned from the Asian tour last Monday, the player underwent thorough medical examinations, which revealed that he has a tear in the cruciate ligament, the same knee that kept him from participating in the UEFA Europa League final last May against Manchester United.

Tottenham issued an official statement confirming that Madison will undergo surgery in the coming days, after which he will begin the rehabilitation phase in collaboration with the club's medical team.

The player is expected to be out for a long time, meaning he will miss most of the matches in the upcoming season.

Tottenham will kick off their Premier League campaign on August 16th against Burnley in the first round of the tournament.
