Thursday 07-08-2025
The transfer of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez from English Liverpool to Saudi Al-Hilal is close to being officially completed during the current summer transfer window.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Nunez is preparing to travel to Germany today for medical examinations, in preparation for signing a three-year contract with the Saudi team.

Simone Inzaghi, the head coach of Al-Hilal, has expressed his desire to include Nunez, who is 26 years old, to strengthen the attacking line in preparation for the new 2025/2026 season.

Intensive negotiations have taken place between the two parties in recent hours, resulting in an agreement for Al-Hilal to pay an amount of 53 million euros, in addition to incentives and bonuses, which was approved by Liverpool.

Nunez joined Liverpool in the summer of 2022 from Portuguese Benfica, in a deal valued at 85 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.

The Uruguayan has played 143 matches for Liverpool across various competitions, scoring 40 goals and providing 26 assists, and he has recently been linked with a move to the Italian league, specifically to Milan and Napoli, but financial demands prevented the completion of the deal.
