Ademola Lookman Disappears Amidst Rising Crisis with Atalanta
Italian media reports have revealed that Nigerian player Ademola Lookman has gone missing amid escalating disagreements between him and the management of Atalanta, following his desire to leave during the current summer transfer window.
According to the newspaper "Corriere dello Sport", Lookman left the city of Bergamo, where the club is based, and his current whereabouts are unknown, forcing the management to communicate only with his agent, as they have been unable to reach him directly.
Lookman has missed team training for the second consecutive day, during which he posted a statement on his Instagram account, confirming that he has been mistreated by Atalanta's management, accusing the club of lying about promises regarding his sale this summer.
For his part, Atalanta's CEO, Luca Percassi, responded by confirming that the player was indeed promised a departure, but it did not include a transfer to a rival club within Serie A such as Inter Milan.
Inter Milan had submitted a bid of 42 million euros plus 3 million in variables, while Atalanta's management is requesting 50 million euros including bonuses. According to the same source, Inter is preparing to make a new offer of 46 million euros plus a player from the youth team to meet the club's demands.
