Manchester United's Anthony Closes the Door on Al Nassr
Monday 04-08-2025
Brazilian winger Anthony of Manchester United has closed the door on Saudi club Al Nassr, having categorically rejected the idea of joining them during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The British newspaper "Mirror" revealed that Al Nassr was interested in signing Anthony, along with his Manchester United teammate, Portuguese Bruno Fernandes, but the Brazilian player decided to take a completely different direction.

The report clarified that Anthony prefers to return to La Liga, specifically to Real Betis, where he previously played on loan during the second half of last season.

Manchester United is trying to offload Anthony's contract for 30 million euros, a figure significantly lower than the 85 million they paid to acquire him from Ajax three years ago.

The player has expressed his willingness to reduce his annual salary, which amounts to 4 million euros, in order to return to Real Betis, which intends to resume negotiations with Manchester United to finalize the deal permanently.

Anthony had played 26 matches with Real Betis during his loan period, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists, which has strengthened his desire to return to the Spanish team permanently.
