The media figure Ahmed Shobeir attacked Basem Morsi, the former Zamalek star.

Shobeir said via "On Sport FM": "Basem Morsi is currently without a club, Basem was the main striker for the Egyptian national team, his abilities allow him to still be the main striker for Egypt up to now."

He added: "Basem Morsi had a strong rise with Zamalek and scored remarkable goals, he was a distinguished player, but his mindset let him down, he is one of the players who did not focus on football to the extent of his talent, and he wasted all the opportunities that were available to him. He is like Amr Zaki and Ibrahim Saeed, they did not utilize their talent sufficiently, and they are still paying the price for it."

The last club Basem Morsi played for was Tala'ea El Gaish before he left during the last winter transfer window.
