Marseille Plans a Swap Deal Involving Azzedine Ounahi

French club Olympique Marseille continues its efforts to sign Spanish left-back Miguel Gutiérrez, a player from Girona, amid strong competition from several European clubs, most notably Italian Napoli, which is closely monitoring the player's development.

Marseille is considering presenting a swap deal that includes the transfer of Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi to Girona, along with a financial compensation, in order to secure Gutiérrez, who caught attention in the Spanish league during the last season.

This move comes after Ounahi was left out of the plans of Marseille's new coach, Roberto De Zerbi, as he has been training with the reserve team, awaiting a decision on his future during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Despite Spartak Moscow reaching an agreement with Marseille for a fee of 12 million euros, which is the minimum amount set by the club to part with Ounahi, the Moroccan player rejected the offer, preferring to seek a destination that matches his sporting ambitions.

Meanwhile, Girona attempted to take advantage of Ounahi's desire to return to La Liga by making an initial offer of 3 million euros; however, Marseille management deemed it insufficient and is looking to enhance the offer by including Ounahi in a swap deal that guarantees them the signing of Gutiérrez.

Miguel Gutiérrez, who is 23 years old, is considered one of the most promising talents in La Liga, having had an impressive season with Girona, making him a priority for Napoli to strengthen the left side, while Marseille enters the race with a strategy that relies on leveraging Ounahi to finalize the deal.
