Al-Maiouf Approaches Return to Al-Hilal
Abdullah Al-Maiouf is nearing a return to Al-Hilal to strengthen the goalkeeper position alongside Moroccan Yassine Bounou, according to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Yawm".
This move by Al-Hilal comes after the official departure of Mohammed Al-Owais to Neom Club during the summer transfer window, in addition to Bounou's preparation to participate with his national team in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in January.
Al-Maiouf left Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 heading to Al-Ittihad, before being loaned to Al-Shabab in January, where he delivered impressive performances in his last season.
According to the "Transfer Market" website, Al-Maiouf played 27 matches with Al-Ittihad, conceding 44 goals, and kept a clean sheet in 6 matches, while he recorded 17 appearances with Al-Shabab, conceding 16 goals, and achieved 7 clean sheets.
Al-Hilal's management is eager to finalize the deal before the start of the new season in mid-August, aiming to secure a strong and ready substitute for the upcoming phase, amidst the pressure of local and continental commitments.
