Italian media reports indicate that Napoli has reopened negotiations to sign Federico Chiesa, the Liverpool star, during the current summer transfer window, after failing to secure the transfer of Dan Ndukwu, who recently moved to Nottingham Forest.

The "Football Italia" network reported that Napoli was targeting a right-back and a winger before deciding to sign Miguel Gutierrez from Girona, but they temporarily postponed that deal to refocus on strengthening the attacking winger position.

Chiesa is Napoli's top choice, especially since he has fallen out of favor with Liverpool coach Arne Slot, having been excluded from the team’s Asian pre-season tour. Chelsea's Raheem Sterling and Manchester City's Jack Grealish are among the alternatives.

According to the report, Chiesa is prioritized by Napoli due to his relatively low salary compared to Sterling and Grealish, as the Italian star earns 6 million euros annually.
