Reports have revealed the absence of Dutch star Xavi Simons from his team Leipzig's match against Italian Atalanta, which is currently being played as part of the preparations for the new season, due to his desire to leave during the current summer transfer window.

The reliable journalist "Fabrizio Romano" confirmed via his official account on the "X" platform that Simons has not suffered any injury or technical issue preventing him from participating; rather, his exclusion from the match roster is due to his clear desire to move to Chelsea in England.

Romano pointed out that the player was not even on the substitutes' bench, in a move that reflects his stance against continuing with Leipzig in the upcoming period.

Simons is 21 years old and is under contract with Leipzig until June 2027, after joining from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023 on loan, before the German club activated the purchase clause last January.
