Media reports have revealed Fenerbahçe's interest in signing Austrian defender David Alaba from Real Madrid during the current summer transfer window.

According to the Turkish website "Sporx", Fenerbahçe's coach, Portuguese José Mourinho, prioritizes signing a defender to strengthen the team's squad, with David Alaba being at the top of his options, leveraging his strong relationship with Real Madrid's management from his time coaching the royal club between 2010 and 2013.

The report indicated that Mourinho promised Alaba a key position in Fenerbahçe's lineup, but the Austrian player, whose contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2026, is keen on staying in Spain and continuing with the royal team.

Alaba joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2021 and has since played 116 matches in the merengue jersey, scoring 5 goals and providing 9 assists, despite suffering from recurring injuries that affected his performance.
