The French defender Koundé announced the renewal of his contract with FC Barcelona for an additional five years, extending his stay with the Catalan team until the summer of 2030.

In statements reported by the Spanish newspaper "Sport", Koundé expressed his happiness to continue with the club, confirming that the agreement was reached easily between both parties.

Koundé said: "Renewing my contract? It's a matter of days, and by the time we return, everything will be settled, so I am happy about that."

He added: "It was very quick, the club and I had the same idea, which is to stay."

He continued: "I am very happy here, I feel comfortable in the team, and the ambition of the club motivates me greatly; every year we compete for every title."

He concluded: "I had no intention of leaving; my contract runs until 2030."
