Al Ahly Star Shocks Management After Departure Decision
Wednesday 30-07-2025
Moroccan defender Ashraf Dari has delivered a strong shock to the management of Egyptian Al Ahly club, as he insists on receiving the full value of his contract as a fundamental condition for agreeing to leave during the current summer transfer window, while the management seeks to reduce the number of foreign players on the team roster.

Al Ahly had signed Dari in August 2024, coming from French club Brest with a contract lasting four seasons, but the player has not appeared regularly due to recurring injuries, the latest being during the team's participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, from which Al Ahly exited in the group stage with only two points.

Media reports have revealed that Dari informed the management, led by Mahmoud El Khatib, that he would not leave unless he receives the full value of his contract, despite receiving an official offer from one of the Saudi clubs for 2 million dollars.

Al Ahly is facing a crisis with the number of foreign players, prompting the management to act quickly to resolve the situation regarding Moroccans Reda Slim and Ashraf Dari, especially with the approaching deadline for local registration.

With Reda Slim's departure, Al Ahly's foreign player list will decrease to only five players: Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan (Tunisia), Ashraf Ben Sharqi (Morocco), Ashraf Dari (Morocco), Aliou Dieng (Mali), and Nik Gredishar (Slovenia).

Attention is currently focused on Dari's position, which could disrupt Al Ahly's technical and administrative plans if he insists on his financial demands without compromise.
