Al-Nassr Cancels Friendly Match with Al-Ahli Youth at Request of Jesus
The management of Al-Nassr Club in Saudi Arabia decided to cancel the friendly match scheduled against Al-Ahli Youth from the UAE as part of the team's training camp currently being held in Austria, in response to a request from Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus.
The sports newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" reported that the coach requested to cancel the match and move the camp to an alternative location due to the continuous rainfall, which has caused dangerous landslides threatening the players' safety.
Jesus expressed his concerns about the possibility of one of the players getting injured due to the weather conditions and preferred not to continue the camp in the same circumstances to avoid any physical harm that could affect the start of the new season.
Al-Nassr had begun its camp with a friendly match against S. Johann from Austria, which ended in a victory of five goals to two. The team is set to play a second friendly match today against Toulouse from France.
Al-Nassr is expected to conclude its camp with the match against Toulouse before heading to Portugal to begin the second phase of preparations, which includes two friendly matches against Sheffield United and Almeria from Spain.
