German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann revealed that player Joshua Kimmich will play in the defensive midfield position in the "Mannschaft" lineup, and he will not be used again as a right-back as he was in some previous occasions.

Nagelsmann said in statements reported by the media: "Kimmich will play once again in the defensive midfield for the German national team from now on, and not as a right-back."

He clarified: "In the current situation, Kimmich will return to play as a number 6, because he is simply among two or three players who regularly occupy this position with their clubs, and with the short time remaining until the World Cup, we do not have the luxury of experimenting or taking big risks."

This decision comes as part of Germany's preparations for upcoming international competitions, where the coaching staff aims to settle on a clear formation and deploy players in their primary positions where they perform at their best.
