Veratti Explains His Departure from PSG
The Italian star Marco Veratti, a player for Qatari team Al-Duhail, revealed the reason for his departure from French club Paris Saint-Germain last July in a free transfer deal.
Veratti stated in press remarks he made to La Gazzetta dello Sport: "They wrote that I left because Luis Enrique wanted it... This is not true."
He added, speaking about his previous experience in the French capital: "In Paris, winning became a given, monotonous, repetitive..."
He concluded: "Here (in Qatar), I regained something of my childhood: the joy of winning, as we felt when we were kids. Here, if a player sits on the bench, he is not angry or complaining. Everyone is smiling, and the desire to be together and play is more important than anything else."
