Electricity Club Signs Lucas Santos
The Electricity Club has officially announced its signing of Brazilian striker Lucas Santos, coming from Al-Shorta Club, as part of the club's efforts to strengthen the front line in preparation for the upcoming season of the Iraqi Premier League.
Santos is the first foreign attacking signing made by the Electricity Club this summer, and the coaching staff hopes that the player will be a real addition to the team's attack, benefiting from his previous experience in Iraqi stadiums, despite his limited appearances with Al-Shorta last season.
Santos joined Al-Shorta two seasons ago from Naft Al-Wasat Club, but he did not get many opportunities to participate in the starting lineup due to the abundance of attacking names and multiple options available to the coaching staff at that time. Nevertheless, he was part of the squad that succeeded in winning the Iraqi Premier League title, which adds to his record as a professional player.
The Electricity management expressed its confidence in Santos's abilities, especially after closely monitoring and evaluating his performance during his time in the Iraqi league, and it expressed hope that the player would provide the necessary offensive effectiveness and the final touch in front of the goal.
This signing comes as part of a series of moves by the Electricity Club to strengthen its ranks with elements capable of raising the level of competitiveness, in light of the increasing ambitions of the club's management to appear stronger this season and achieve results befitting the team's status in the league.
