Newcastle Close to Securing Cisco Deal Ahead of Manchester United

Newcastle United is becoming the frontrunner to sign Slovenian striker Benjamin Cisco, a player from German club RB Leipzig, outpacing Manchester United, its competitor in the Premier League, according to the British newspaper 'Telegraph'.

Previous reports had confirmed that both clubs entered talks with the player, but no official agreement with Leipzig has been reached yet, amidst increasing interest in acquiring him during the current summer transfer window.

Although German sources indicated that Cisco preferred a move to Manchester United, even in light of their absence from European participation, the Telegraph reported from informed sources that Newcastle is currently the closest to finalizing the deal, without ruling out continued competition from United.

Both clubs are also exploring other attacking options alongside Cisco, including Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa and Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea.

It is noteworthy that Cisco participated in 45 matches with Leipzig last season, scoring 21 goals and providing 6 assists.
